Too Cool (31.059% THCa) – Premium THCa Flower

Too Cool is an Indica THCa flower strain bred by Exotic Genetix from Runtz × Scotty 2 Hotty. This living soil batch tests at 31.059% THCa with 33.343% total cannabinoids and a 1.93% terpene profile with limonene and myrcene almost dead even at the top — a genuine co-dominance that gives it a sweet-citrus front and an earthy, calming back half in the same breath.

Overview

Too Cool is an Indica strain grown here in living soil. This batch tests at 31.059% THCa, 27.407% total THC, and 33.343% total cannabinoids, with Δ9-THC at 0.168%. Total CBD was not detected. The minor cannabinoid fraction is led by 1.642% CBGa, with CBC at 0.101% — one of the higher neutral CBC readings on our menu — plus CBCa 0.183% and THCVa 0.190%.

Total terpenes come in at 1.93%, and the top of the list is essentially a tie: limonene at 0.65% (33.7% of the profile) and β-myrcene at 0.62% (32.1%). Together those two are two-thirds of everything measured. Behind them: α-pinene (0.10%), cis-β-ocimene (0.09%), α-humulene (0.09%), linalool (0.09%), menthol (0.09%), β-pinene (0.08%), endo-fenchyl alcohol (0.06%), plus trace sabinene hydrate, camphene and terpinolene. Caryophyllene was not detected.

Worth noting against the reputation: the one published lab panel we could find for Too Cool — a single Michigan cultivator batch — ran limonene > caryophyllene > myrcene. Ours matches on limonene leading but has no caryophyllene at all, with myrcene stepping into second at nearly the same level as limonene. That trade changes the character: less gas and pepper, more sweet citrus over earthy sweetness. It also explains the indica classification well — a myrcene co-lead at 0.62% is a lot of body.

Aroma and Flavor

Sweet citrus candy leads the nose — that is the Runtz side coming through as limonene — sitting on a deep, earthy-musky myrcene base. There is a cool menthol edge to it and a clean pine sharpness from the combined 0.18% pinene, plus a fresh green note from the cis-β-ocimene.

The flavor is sweet berry and cherry candy on the draw, orange-peel citrus through the middle, and an earthy, faintly herbal finish with a menthol coolness on the exhale. Reports on this strain split between a sweet berry-menthol read and a gassier chemical one; this batch is firmly in the sweet camp, and with caryophyllene absent there is none of the diesel-pepper bite the other descriptions mention.

Effects and Usage

Too Cool is an Indica-leaning hybrid at roughly 60/40, per Exotic Genetix. Reported effects split across sources — Leafly’s small review base leans energetic and talkative, while cultivator and dispensary descriptions consistently report calming, tingly, full-bodied relaxation with appetite stimulation.

This batch’s chemistry sides with the calming read. Myrcene at 0.62% co-leading with limonene is the classic sweet-but-heavy combination: a bright, euphoric onset that resolves into comfortable physical ease rather than sustained stimulation. Best for late afternoon and evening, decompressing, and anything that does not require sharp focus later.

Strain Background

Too Cool was bred by Exotic Genetix in Washington State and released in 2022 as part of the Scotty 2 Hotty cross line — specifically as a freebie pack inside the Scotty 2 Hotty Part 1 Player Box rather than a flagship release. It is feminized only.

Genetics: Runtz × Scotty 2 Hotty. All sources agree on the two parents; SeedFinder specifies Runtz as the mother with Scotty 2 Hotty used as the reversal, which is consistent with feminized-only seed. Going one generation back, Runtz is Zkittlez × Gelato — tracing to Grape Ape, GSC, OG Kush and Durban Poison — and Scotty 2 Hotty is reported as Biscotti × Rainbow Chip. Leafly notes the breeder planned to stop working with Runtz after this line, which makes Too Cool something of a closing statement for that chapter.

Documentation is genuinely thin. Leafly’s page carries seven reviews and no terpene or THC data. SeedFinder’s entry has zero user-submitted phenotype, aroma or grow reports — breeder claims only. Weedmaps has no strain page for it at all. There are no awards for Too Cool from any competition in any year, and we are not going to imply otherwise. What you are buying is a well-attributed Exotic Genetix cross that most of the internet has not caught up to, and a COA that is currently one of the more detailed public data points on it.

The name is at least unambiguous — unlike most of this release, no competing breeder claims it and no near-name strain exists.

Storage Instructions

Store Too Cool in an airtight container in a cool, dark, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat. Limonene degrades first and it is doing half the work in this batch, so light and warmth are what cost you the candy-citrus front.
