Grape Stomper (29.542% THCa) – Premium THCa Flower

Grape Stomper — also known as Sour Grapes — is a Sativa-leaning THCa flower strain from Gage Green Genetics, crossed from Purple Elephant × Chemdog Sour Diesel. This hydroponic batch tests at 29.542% THCa with 2.440% total terpenes and a commanding 0.81% trans-caryophyllene — 33.3% of the entire terpene profile — making it the most caryophyllene-forward flower in this release.

Overview

Grape Stomper is a collector’s strain that never quite went mainstream, which is exactly why people hunt for it. Gage Green Genetics built it from JojoRizo’s Purple Elephant and an Elite Seeds Chemdog Sour Diesel cut, aiming for the grape-candy sweetness of the Purple Elephant side layered over sour diesel funk. It worked, and the strain picked up a second identity as “Sour Grapes” after the cut was sold to a California collective.

The dominant terpenes in this batch are trans-Caryophyllene (0.81%), Limonene (0.45%), β-Myrcene (0.36%), α-Humulene (0.21%), and Linalool (0.15%), with supporting α-Bisabolol (0.09%) and Guaiol (0.08%). Caryophyllene at 33.3% of the total is what defines this batch — it is the peppery, spicy terpene also found in black pepper and cloves, and it is the only common terpene known to interact directly with the body’s CB2 receptors.

The minor cannabinoid fraction is strong as well: 1.224% CBGa, 0.180% CBCa, and 0.174% THCVa alongside the 29.542% THCa, for 31.558% total cannabinoids.

Aroma and Flavor

Grape Stomper leads with the grape-candy sweetness it is named for — a distinct purple-fruit note inherited from Purple Elephant — immediately backed by the sour diesel funk of its Chemdog side. This batch’s heavy caryophyllene load adds a black-pepper spice that cuts through the sweetness and gives the profile a savory edge, while 0.45% limonene brightens the top with citrus.

The flavor is layered: sweet grape and citrus first, sour fuel and pepper through the middle, and a warm spicy-floral exhale rounded by the bisabolol and guaiol. It is one of the more distinctive flavor profiles in our lineup — sweet and savory at the same time.

Effects and Usage

Grape Stomper is a versatile, sativa-leaning hybrid experience. The onset is euphoric and mood-elevating, driven by the limonene, without the racy edge some sativas carry — the heavy caryophyllene and myrcene content adds a warm, grounded body feel underneath the head lift.

That balance makes it flexible: bright enough for daytime and social use, but with enough body to work in the evening as well. Pacing tip: at 29.542% THCa with 31.558% total cannabinoids, this is a strong batch. Start small.

Strain Background

Grape Stomper was created by Gage Green Genetics from JojoRizo’s Purple Elephant crossed with Elite Seeds’ Chemdog Sour Diesel — a cut that, per the breeder’s own notes, is widely believed to actually be a Headband × Sour Diesel hybrid containing no true Chemdawg. The pairing was aimed at combining Purple Elephant’s grape sweetness with sour diesel’s pungency and vigor.

The strain later became known as Sour Grapes after the cut was sold to a California collective, and the two names have circulated in parallel ever since. It flowers in roughly 72 days and was originally clone-only before becoming available as feminized seed.

This batch was grown hydroponically, producing dense, resinous flower with a strong expression of the strain’s caryophyllene-forward terpene profile.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Grape Stomper Indica or Sativa?
We classify Grape Stomper as a Sativa. The breeder describes it as an indica/sativa hybrid, and in practice it leans sativa — euphoric and uplifting with a warm, grounded body feel rather than sedation.

What does Grape Stomper taste like?
Sweet grape candy and citrus up front, sour diesel fuel and black pepper through the middle, and a warm spicy-floral exhale. Sweet and savory at once.

What is the dominant terpene in Grape Stomper?
trans-Caryophyllene at 0.81% is dominant, making up 33.3% of the total terpene profile. Limonene (0.45%) and β-Myrcene (0.36%) round out the top three.

Is Grape Stomper the same as Sour Grapes?
Yes. Grape Stomper was renamed Sour Grapes after the cut was sold to a California collective, and both names refer to the same Gage Green Genetics strain.

What are the parents of Grape Stomper?
Grape Stomper is a cross of JojoRizo’s Purple Elephant and Elite Seeds’ Chemdog Sour Diesel, bred by Gage Green Genetics.
