Punch Breath (31.449% THCa) – THCa Flower Ounce Special

Punch Breath is an Indica THCa flower strain bred by Symbiotic Genetics from Mendo Breath × Purple Punch, known for sweet grape-berry flavor and heavy, relaxing effects. This living soil batch tests at 31.449% THCa with 33.050% total cannabinoids and 3.13% total terpenes — the highest terpene content in this release and more than double our last Punch Breath batch. Limonene leads at 0.87%, with linalool close behind at 0.61%. It passed a full safety panel and is offered at $99.99 for a full ounce.

Overview

Punch Breath is an Indica. This batch tests at 31.449% THCa, 27.744% total THC and 33.050% total cannabinoids, with Δ9-THC at 0.164%. The minor cannabinoid fraction is broad: CBGa 0.833%, CBCa 0.202%, THCVa 0.176%, CBDa 0.072%, CBG 0.071%, CBC 0.061%, CBN 0.012% and CBDVa 0.011%.

Total terpenes come in at 3.13%, ranked: limonene 0.87% (28% of the profile), linalool 0.61%, trans-caryophyllene 0.49%, β-myrcene 0.33%, menthol 0.21%, endo-fenchyl alcohol 0.18%, β-pinene 0.13%, α-humulene 0.11%, α-pinene 0.09%, camphene, sabinene hydrate and (+)-borneol at 0.03% each, and terpinolene 0.02%.

What this profile means: the limonene lead matches Leafly’s published profile for Punch Breath, and caryophyllene and myrcene are both well represented. The standout is linalool at 0.61% in second place. Published profiles do not list linalool for this strain, so treat it as a trait of this batch. It adds a lavender-floral softness and fits the strain’s calm, sleepy reputation.

What Changed From Our Last Punch Breath Batch

Punch Breath is back with a new batch, and it is a big step up. Our previous batch tested at 27.247% THCa with 1.50% total terpenes. This batch tests at 31.449% THCa — about 4 points higher — and its terpenes more than doubled to 3.13%. Limonene still leads, now at 0.87% instead of 0.31%, and linalool has moved into second place at 0.61%.

We have also changed its classification from Hybrid to Indica. SeedFinder lists Punch Breath as “mostly indica,” AllBud as a 70/30 indica-dominant hybrid, and Weedmaps as indica-leaning. Both parents lean indica, and the strain’s reported effects are relaxing and sleepy. Indica is the more accurate label.

Aroma and Flavor

Published descriptions of Punch Breath describe sweet berry, grape and candy with vanilla and earthy, nutty notes. This batch opens with a bright citrus-sweet nose from the 0.87% limonene over a grape-berry sweetness. The linalool adds a clear lavender-floral layer, the caryophyllene adds warm pepper and spice, and menthol and fenchyl alcohol add a cool, minty-herbal edge. Myrcene and humulene ground it with earthy depth.

On the palate it is sweet berry and citrus up front, floral and creamy through the middle, and finishes earthy and lightly spiced with a cool exhale.

Effects and Usage

Punch Breath is reported as relaxing, happy, tingly and sleepy, with a body-heavy finish — true to its indica-leaning parents. Expect a quick mood lift and a warm, tingly body feel that settles into deep relaxation. The limonene keeps the opening upbeat, while the linalool, caryophyllene and myrcene in this batch support the calm, sleepy end.

Best suited to evenings, winding down, and nights in. At 31.449% THCa this is strong flower — if you are new to this potency, start with a small amount and give it time.

Strain Background

Punch Breath was bred by Symbiotic Genetics, crossing Mendo Breath × Purple Punch. SeedFinder lists the cross as Mendo Breath F2 × Purple Punch F2, and Weedmaps notes an F2 phenotype of Purple Punch was used.

• Mendo Breath is OGKB × Mendo Montage, bred by Gage Green Genetics, and is classed as an indica. It brings the vanilla, caramel and earthy notes and the heavy body feel.
• Purple Punch is Larry OG × Granddaddy Purple. It brings the sweet grape and berry flavor.

Punch Breath has been sold by licensed brands for several years, and its Leafly reviews date back to at least 2021, but no exact release year is documented. We found no verified competition awards for Punch Breath. Purple Punch has its own placings, but a parent’s awards do not carry over to a cross, so we do not call this strain award-winning.

Do not confuse Punch Breath with: a separate Punch Breath from Paisa Grow Seeds (Skunk × Purple Punch), Platinum OG Punch Breath (a descendant, not the same strain), or similarly named strains such as Peanut Butter Breath, Purple Punch Breath, Punch Mints and Mendo Punch.
